If there is to be an Independent Scotland, no decision has yet been made about the currency to be used. In spite of pound notes having replaced by pound coins, the occasional Scottish pound note is still in circulation. Although the Scottish pound note, produced by Scotland's banks is legal currency, it is not legal tender.
